Pamela

Pamela was unable to walk after her third birthday, and, shortly after, she was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. At age 7, she was told she had six months to live because her organs were being crushed by an 80-degree curve in her spine. She also faced a double heart murmur. But Children’s Colorado doctors refused to give up on Pamela. She has had support from doctors at the Neuromuscular Clinic for Muscle Disorders as well as help from pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mark Erickson, who performed a partial-fusion surgery that helped change everything for her. Tune in to hear how Pamela has defied her diagnosis.
