UPDATE: Sam Smith's New Single 'Too Good at Goodbyes' to Be Released This Week

August 31, 2017

It is official. We are just days away from hearing new Sam Smith music.

In a post shared on his Twitter account on Monday (September 4), the 25-year-old singer revealed details about his new single:

The tweet was followup to an email that the "Stay with Me" singer sent out last week. He thanked fans for their patience as he's spent the past year "escaping" into his mind to write music freely.

Sam says he poured his "soul and heart into this record."

Smith's debut album, which is titled In The Lonely Hour, was released in 2014. It gave us the smash hit songs of "I'm Not the Only One" and "Stay With Me."

It sounds like Sam has always poured his heart and soul into his music, so we are sure this will be great if he has spent this much time escaping into his work. Billboard reports that Smith worked with Timbaland to produce the upcoming album.

By the way, we're not the only ones who are excited about his new music. Pop super star Lorde expressed her excitement on Twitter after Sam gave us a peak into rehearsals as he shared this image on Twitter on Tuesday:

So Lorde acknowledged Smith's pants:

The messages concluded when Sam complimented Lorde's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month:

Just a couple of more days to go until we get the new single from Sam Smith!
