Slacker and Steve - OPP: Graduation Dropout (Audio)

May 12, 2016

Today’s OPP is from Karina. She needs advice on whether she should tell the truth or ride the lie! Here’s what she said:

Yi guys,

My graduation is supposed to be this weekend and a lot of family are coming from out of town--my parents, aunts and uncles, and my grandparents. I dropped out at the end of last year and never told anyone. I got really burned out on school and started to hate my major. I wanted to change majors but the wait to get into the one I wanted was long. Anyway, I have two options now: Pretend like I'm sick and can't go to the graduation ceremony or tell my family the truth. My parents have been supporting me through college and I know they would cut me off if they find out. I couldn't survive without the money they send me. Should I be honest and tell my family so they don't make a trip here for nothing or tell the truth and lose my parents support I need to survive? –Karina

What do you think Karina should do?

Slacker and Steve - OPP: Graduation Dropout 5/12

Karina's entire family is flying in to see her graduate; little do they know she is a college dropout. She has two options, ride the lie or tell the truth to her family, knowing that they will financially cut her off. She can't survive without the money they send. Should Karina tell the truth or keep collecting her "college" fund?
