Slacker and Steve - OPP: Disabled Dating (Audio)

August 2, 2016

Today’s OPP is from Heather and she needs your help and advice to get people to see her true identity. She was in a car accident at 23-years-old that left her legs un-useable. She is now in her late 20’s and has been in a wheelchair ever since. Now that she is done rehabbing and continuous doctor visits, she is ready to get back into the dating scene. Heather created an online dating account and has mingles with some men on there, however once they find out about her disability they run for the hills. She has stopped telling potential suitors so they can see her for her true identity, which has only delayed their process of running away. She is open to dating others with disabilities, but she is finding men aren’t open to hers. She needs advice on when to tell men about her disability and how she can get them to look past her wheelchair and see her true identity.

What advice do you have for Heather?
