WATCH: Katy Perry's Star-Studded Basketball Team Shines in "Swish Swish" Music Video

August 24, 2017

Katy Perry just made an incredible comeback. In fact, Perry didn’t just make a comeback by herself, but instead, her entire basketball team did. Yes, the Tigers surged from behind in the music video for “Swish Swish,” which was released today (August 24).

For the plot of the video, Katy’s Tigers are losing to The Sheep in the first half. It’s not until the halftime appearance from Nicki Minaj that the game begins to turn. The video has a distinct 1970’s parody vibe today.  It felt like a cross between Will Ferrell’s Anchorman movie and Vince Vaughn’s Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story movie.

Katy surely brought in the star power for the video. Molly Shannon appeared as the Tigers coach, Meanwhile, Katy’s teammates included: Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), and Christine Sydelko (internet fame).

Meanwhile, Terry Crews appeared as the coach of the Sheep (the opposing team). Plus, the game featured the commentary from Bill Walton and Rich Eisen.
