ABC Is Officially Bringing 'American Idol' Back to TV

One of the most iconic television shows of our time will be coming back to TV next year.

Yes, American Idol will now call ABC home. The network made the announcement on Good Morning America today (May 9).

The network hasn't said too much about the show's judging panel or who would be hosting the show. It does, however, sound like Ryan Seacrest could travel across the country twice a week to host the show. Seacrest's schedule, of course, has gotten extra busy since he was unveiled as the host of Live.

Live with Kelly and Ryan
tapes in New York City, and Idol's production company has insisted that show must remain in Los Angeles. Given the right circumstances, Seacrest could jet set across the country twice a week to host both shows. It does, however, sound incredibly exhausting.

The trick, by the way, is that Live does not usually tape on Fridays. So Ryan could head to LA on Thursday night to prepare for American Idol on Sunday nights.
