A renewed law in Pennsylvania makes it illegal to touch a pregnant woman's belly without permission. The warning came after a case in the central part of the state. "Essentially, someone had touched a pregnant woman's belly. That's very common that pregnant women have to go through. The only problem is when you harass, annoy, alarm in the act of touching, then it's a violation, a harassment charge," said attorney Phil DiLucente.
Slacker has never understood why poeple want to touch a pregnant woman's belly. Is there some sort of power transfer that happens when you touch her? He equates it to picking up a random person's puppy on the street. You wouldn't do that, so why would you touch her?
Steve doesn't understand why this has to be a law. Why can't pregnant women just ask someone not to touch them when they get close. He says this is just another way for people to be passive aggressive and not deal with their own problems.
Did random strangers touch your belly while you were pregnant? Did it bother you?
