A web site came up with a list of the world's 10 funniest town names.
They include Tightwad, Missouri and No Name, Colorado.
SmarterTravel.com said local legend claims that Tightwad got its name in the early 1900s when the town's postmaster was mad about being cheated in a watermelon sale. No Name locals said the town got its unusual name when a state Department of Transportation official gave the name to an Interstate exit.
The Web site picked Hell, Cayman Islands, as third on the list. Locals claim the name came from someone commenting that the black limestone formations in the town "must be what hell looks like."
Elephant Butte, New Mexico came in the fourth on the list. The town got its name from a volcanic cone island resembling the silhouette of an elephant.
The fifth town was Chicken, Alaska. It earned its name when residents in the 1800s weren't able to correctly spell ptarmigan, a type of bird that was common to the area at the time.
Also on the list were Crapstone, England; Rabbit Hash, Kentucky; Middlefart, Denmark and Nimrod, Oregon.
Finishing off the list was Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales, which translates to "St. Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel Near to the Rapid Whirlpool of Llantysilio of the Red Cave". It was intentionally named in the 1860s to give it the longest name in Britain.
