As well all know, when Steve has an opinion about something, he believes he’s always right and you should “get with the program.” Today, Steve has an opinion about the Great American Smoke-Out and our Producer Dave.
For a while now, Dave has been Steve’s smoking buddy. In the middle of the show, they would head down to grab a smoke together, but now… Dave and his wife are trying to quit so they can have a baby. Slacker has been very supportive, helping Dave find things to do, distracting him from wanting to go out and smoke. Tomorrow is the Great American Smoke-Out and Slacker believes that is the perfect day for him to quit altogether. He even offered to buy Dave the patches. Steve… Offered to buy Dave smokes and pay for the $50 bucks that comes off his paycheck every month. Steve does not want Dave giving into the pure pressure of the world and quitting on the day of the Great American Smoke-Out. He says Dave can quit, even though he really doesn’t think he should quit something he’s good at, but just not tomorrow.
I am not a smoker, so I don’t really know how it feels when you are trying to quit, but from what I’ve witnessed, I think Slacker has been very supportive and Steve has kind of been a little selfish. He asks Dave if he’s going to smoke a lot and I feel like that’s putting pressure on Dave alone, but way to not give in buddy! If Dave chooses to quit tomorrow, I say good for him and at least Slacker and I will be supportive!
Do you think Dave should quit tomorrow? Is Steve being a good friend?
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night, rolling over and having to catch your breath because your lungs can't function properly. Imagine not being able to walk 50 feet without stopping to catch your breath. I'm dying slowly and I wouldn't wish this on my enemies. I need a lung transplant if I want to live. I have no social life and will leave a son behind who is only 20. You don't want to do that to those you love. Peace and health to you buddy, Olias. 303-960-0807
