Yi! My husband refuses to hyphenate his last name. I asked him to hyphenate it because I feel that it is only fair, if I have to do it. He refuses. He says he couldn't respect any man that hyphenates his name. Why is this a big deal? I want my family to have one family name. I don't get why he is so stuck up on this. Why is it okay for me to change my name? Like I'm some sort of property of his. I won't do it, if he won't do it.
Is the woman taking the man's last name an outdated tradition? Should men take their bride's last name as well?
