I have been married for 10 months and I realize now it was a mistake. I got caught up in the whirlwind of lust and jumped into it too fast. I'm not in love with him and only reason I'm still with him is because my parents spent a small fortune on our wedding. I don't want them to feel like they wasted their money on me. I'm unhappy but I'm willing to stay if I have to. What should I do?
Slacker doesn’t know what anyone is going to tell this woman. She can’t just stay because she doesn’t love him. That would be awful for the man. How does one stay married when you’re miserable? He knows other people that have stayed married because their parent looked down on divorce. He thinks Hannah feels like she’d be a disgrace. If his brother never got divorced first, then he wouldn’t have gotten divorced because he didn’t want to be the first disappointment to his parents.
Steve thinks that Hannah feels bad for wasting her parent’s money and disgraced the name. He thinks she doesn’t want to disappoint her dad from making a bad investment on her.
What should Hannah do?
I feel awful for Hannah right now. And even worse for the guy she married, but if you are unhappy, then end it. Tell your parents you’ll pay them back. Or next time you wanna get married, pay for it yourself. Maybe you’ll learn your lesson.
