OPP: Friend Going After my Crush
Sarah joined us live on the air today for OPP.
She has had a crush on a guy named Parker forever. She has made it well known to her friends that she is interested in him; she just hasn’t had the guts to make a move. Her best friend, Jessie, said Sarah had waited too long to make a move and swooped in and tried to steal Parker's attention. Sarah is mad that her best friend would do something like that to her.
Slacker thinks that her friend should have helped hook them up rather than swoop in on the man. Steve once liked a particular girl but took too long to make a move, so Slacker asked him if he could take the girl on a date. Steve agreed and Slacker married (and divorced) the girl. They handled it like adults.
We tried to get Jessie on the phone with us, but she was at work. She told Producer Dave off the air that she wanted Sarah to know that Parker is not interested in Sarah and that she didn’t know how to tell her best friend her crush didn’t like her. She did say that Parker had shown an interest in her, that’s why she made a move, and they have even made out after dates!
We were able to get Parker on the phone and things got interesting. He told us that he was actually interested in Sarah and had approached Jessie about it. She told him that Sarah wasn’t interested in him! He also said that he had never been on a date with Jessie. Turns out, Jessie was trying to sabotage them. In the end, Sarah and Parker both admitted they had feelings for each other and made plans to go on a date.
Is going after a friend’s crush against “the code,” or are they still free game? What should Sarah do about her friendship with Jessie now?
