Yi!!
Today’s OPP comes from Meg:
Yi guys! I have a workplace dilemma and need some advice. I work closely with a gal who's constantly sick. Mind you, I feel bad that she's a migraine sufferer and I wish she could find treatment that would work for her and relieve her pain. However, every time she calls off work- which is at least once a week- I am the one who has to do her work for her. Considering I'm doing the job of two people yet only paid for one, is this issue grounds for an H.R. complaint?
Meg
Steve thinks Meg is the victim here. He says being a parent should be listed in a sense, as an illness because if their kids are sick, they have to take the day off to help take care of him/her. It’s not fair. Slacker and Steve got into the discussion about smokers because what if one of them is downstairs taking a break and they need someone to do that job really fast…She is going to have to pick up the slack. It’s not working as a team. Slacker thinks she should just keep her mouth shut and do her job…Do your best and go home…If you hate your life, then just quit. It’s not your employer’s responsibility to make sure there is justice…There’s work to be done so just do it and pick up the slack.
What advice do you have for Meg?
