Mommy Me Time

Yi!

Mothers get on average just 17 minutes of ‘me time’ all to themselves a day. Those moments are usually spent trying to catch up on a TV show reading, or taking a little extra time in bed. Women are so overworked that they’re often frazzled and stressed and forget to take any time at all for themselves. Even though both men and women can be working it is still mostly up to women to get the household chores done. When women can find time to themselves they find their bedroom to be their sanctuary.

Slacker says that his wife, who is a stay-at-home mom, watches entire seasons of TV shows on Netflix. Slacker says someone is lying: the moms about what they do with their time, or the study about how much time they get. Lil D completely disagrees with this study. We recently had some time off and he spent that time home with daughter. He says that he has never had so much free time in his life and he would be a stay-at-home dad in an instant.

Do you agree with the study? How much 'me time' do you get a day?

Mommy Me Time
Every home is different. I was tempted to call in today but decided not to because a) I didn't have time and b) I didn't want to be yelled at for having a differing opinion. I am a single mom and have been since my children were 3 & 7. My eldest was diagnosed with a seizure and memory disorder so most things children do at her age, she needed assistance. She also didn't nap for a full two hours, nor did she sleep all night. If I were on your radio show, you would have told me by now that "I chose the life" and to "stop complaining." I chose to get married, not to be cheated on. I chose to divorce to protect my children. I did not chose to miscarry or to have a special needs child. Yes, many evenings, I had a free 30 minutes or more without caring for children, cleaning the house, or any of the many other things parents do. Usually, I was so tired, that I slept instead of reading, watching tv, etc. I was usually awoken in the middle of the night with my daughter having night terrors. As they got older, I drove them to school events, helped them with homework, was a shoulder to lean on when things didn't go well at school. Try being a single mom with a special needs child, working full time, and having no one else to lean on. Then tell me how much time you have to watch full seasons of some tv show.
