The Fourth of July is a fun and exciting holiday…and one of the most dangerous! We want to hear about your firework follies!
Slacker shares a story from his childhood when the fence behind his house (which was also next to a large pile of wood) became engulfed in flames because of a neighbor's fireworks. Steve tells a story from his childhood of his snobby neighbors and their expensive fireworks. One year he finally got sick of them always having the best display and just before they did their Fourth of July exhibition he blew up their entire pile of fancy fireworks.
As far as firework-based mishaps go, I've been pretty lucky. I think the worst that has ever happened to me was a burn on my foot when I dropped a sparkler on it. Of course, I've always lived in Colorado and there are many laws against fireworks. Like Slacker, I do not have much experience with setting off my own, so my childhood was lacking in the "blowing stuff up" department.
