A German company recently fired a woman because there was a chance she was going to get pregnant. The woman sued and won $15,000. The employer sent a memo that read: "For a woman of your age, it is 'normal' to become pregnant and have children. We celebrate every new person in the world, but must take consideration of our business concerns. We would be happy to embark upon the 're-establishment' of our business in Dusseldorf - but that will obviously not work if you are absent in 2012 due to a pregnancy.
I work in the medical field and i can understands why this company would do this. I have dealt and been around many pregos... ... Or people thinking its their last chance. I am a single 31yr old female... Last of 4 kids... I have thought about the options... I am not getting younger.. But people that have children of any age can call in or take off for any reason. It's not fair to people that do not have children... And we end up paying the increase in insurance. Recently i had a review and my higher ups had nothing negative to say but yet in order to get a more than 3 percent increase have to walk on water or be a mother. I am a mother in my own eyes to 4 dogs, 2 cats, 3 birds... But yet not the same. To me it is.
