Lee DeWyze is an American singer-songwriter who was the winner of American Idol. DeWyze auditioned in Chicago at the United Center for the 9th season of American Idol on June 22, 2009. A coast to coast flight from LA to New York had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City, MO to
remove an out of control passenger who was singing Whitney Houston songs. She was "being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew." An in-flight air marshal subdued the woman and cuffed her before they landed and took her off the flight. As she was leaving the plane she was belting out a terrible rendition of "I Will Always Love You."
