We’ve all fantasized about quitting a job in an all-out blaze of glory, but few of us have actually had the nerve to do it. Then there's these guys... Three employees of the Journey store at the Marketplace Mall in Rochester, New York, closed up shop and walked out in the middle of a busy back-to-school shopping week to protest their abusive manager. And what’s more, they left a note behind explaining why they did what they did.
Here’s the note:
Dear Jamie, Since you decided to say, “Cancer is not an excuse” and think it’s OK to swear at your employees like you do ALL the time … WE QUIT. THIS is why you can’t keep a store manager longer than a year. YOU ABUSE your role and staff. Enjoy the fact that you lost a store manager, co-manager, and key holder in the middle of Back to School. Think next time you treat people the we you do.
We aren’t allowing it anymore.
The cherry on the sundae is that mall can fine stores that close in the middle of the shopping day $500 per day.
How did you go out in a blaze of glory?
